What the college says
History at A level is a diverse course covering over 500 years of History. You will study a British period study and enquiry on the Early Tudors. Furthermore, you will also sit a non-British period study on Germany 1919-63. The final exam will be a thematic study focusing on interpretations, which will focus on Civil Rights in America 1865- 1992. In addition, a topic based investigation written in the form of an extended answer will shape the course work unit, this unit also allows student flexibility of topic choice.
What you need to get on
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths. In addition English Language and History at grade 5, are required.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
