The AS Level course broadens and deepens the Maths covered in A Level Maths. The Further Pure content covers topics such as: Proof; Complex numbers; Matrices; Further algebra and functions; Further calculus; Further vectors. Additionally, students will choose one of the following options: 2A: Further Pure Mathematics 2 - Complex numbers, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Polar coordinates, Hyperbolic functions, Differential equations. 2B: Further Statistics - Linear regression, Statistical distributions (discrete), Statistical distributions (continuous), Correlation, Hypothesis testing, Chi squared tests. 2C: Further Mechanics - Momentum and impulse, Collisions, Centres of mass, Work and energy, Elastic strings and springs. 2D: Decision Mathematics - Algorithms and graph theory, Algorithms on graphs, Algorithms on graphs II, Critical path analysis, Linear programming.

What you need to get on

A minimum of five grade 6s and three grade 5s at GCSE including a grade 7 in GCSE Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
