What the college says
Over this two year course, pupils are supported on a visual and creative journey, which focuses on the learnerês personal progress. Students are encouraged to explore and experiment across a broad range of materials, developing personal ideas along the way. This creative and exciting course involves pupils experiencing new and developing current practical skills. These include drawing and painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, mixed media, Photoshop, graphics and art textiles. Trips to galleries and museums are a key element of the course. These trips play a big part in the development of artwork as well as giving pupils the chance to celebrate and enjoy art in new environments. There is also the opportunity for art weekends away, where pupils take part in intensive yet fun workshops, with more experimental and expressive work being produced. We welcome ALL creative and enthusiastic pupils to the course. We as staff work hard to ensure the course is an enjoyable and creative experience, requiring you to be committed in your progression. The course is a chance to visually explore and promote your own style and skill. You are given creative freedom to approach tasks in a personal way and develop your individual strengths to final outcomes and exams. If you have any queries about the course please come and ask the art staff, who will be happy to help. Course Details: (A.S) Unit 1 _ Coursework 100% including prep work to support this.
