TThe WJEC Eduqas A level in Art and Design has been designed to provide creative learning experiences, where art, craft and design practice is meaningfully integrated with theoretical knowledge and understanding. This specification provides you with opportunities to develop a broad foundation of critical, practical and theoretical skills that offers a holistic understanding of a range of practices and contexts in the visual arts, crafts and design fields, culminating in greater specialism and achievement.

What you need to get on

In order to follow an academic Level 3 programme of study you should have achieved five or more GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5's or above, including English* and mathematics. In addition you should have achieved at least a 6 grade in Art at GCSE to the A level. Where you do not meet the requirements, but feel that there are good reasons why you should be allowed on the course; please feel free to come and discuss this with one of the Sixth Form team.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
