The specification studied is OCR Fine Art. It may be taken alongside Photography, Textile Design, Graphic Communication and DT Product Design In Year 1: Fine Art is experimental in approach and includes traditional and contemporary methods to expand your creative skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed-media and digital approaches. You will be encouraged to express your personal feelings and emotions through art and will take inspiration from others by studying the work of artists as well as responding to history and culture. In Year 2: You will complete two units of work (as outlined below) which will be internally assessed and externally moderated and will form 100% of the final grade. Through studying Fine Art, you will have constructed a professional portfolio of work with experienced teaching staff that showcases key transferable skills such as problem solving and visual thinking to support your chosen career pathway

What you need to get on

You will need 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above, including English Language or English Literature as well as GCSE Art at Level 4 or above. You will also be asked to do a summer transition task before starting the course.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
