The mind is something intangible that exists within our brain; an unseen process of enzymes, chemicals and electric currents. But why is it that some people suffer from stress or mental illness? Or others are considered abnormal for deviating from social norms? Psychology looks at questions like these and more. We will give you an understanding of the way people think and why people behave in certain ways. You will learn a variety of skills including analytical thinking, improved communication, problem solving and more, which will prepare you for an exciting future.

What you need to get on

To enter South Craven Sixth Form students need to have achieved Grade 9-4 at GCSE (A*-C), or Merits in other level 2 qualifications (e.g. BTEC, OCR Nationals), in at least 5 separate subjects including English Lit/English Language or Maths. This is considered to be the minimum entry requirement. Must include Grade 5 in GCSE English Language, Grade 4 in Mathematics and two Grade 4s in GCSE Science

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
