AS and A level Psychology will give you an understanding of the way people think and why people behave in certain ways. You will learn a variety of skills including analytical thinking, improved communication, problem solving and many more. In Y12 students study Social Influence, Memory, Attachments, Approaches in Psychology, Psychopathology and Research Methods. Those students taking A level Psychology rather than just AS level will also study Issues and Debates in Psychology, Research Methods, Biopsychology, and Relationships, Eating Behaviour and Aggression in Y13.

Minimum GCSE Level 5 in Maths, English and biology (or double science) to take A level psychology

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
