This course will give you a fundamental understanding of the different theory, concepts and research methods in psychology as well as a critical appreciation of the scientific nature of the subject. It will provide opportunities to develop critical thinking and to relate aspects of psychology to current day issues. The course will give you a firm academic grounding in psychology, initially through studying the different approaches before going on to specialise in particular areas to which psychology is applied. In addition, you will have acquired substantial experience in the practical work associated with the subject through experiencing a range of data collection techniques and developing an awareness of data and how it can be analysed.

What you need to get on

You will need a minimum of five GCSE subjects at Grade 4 or above, which must include English, Mathematics and Science at Level 5 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
