For anyone who sees their future career in Science the Applied Science qualification is an excellent starting point. It covers a wide range of topics across biology, chemistry and physics and will allow you to acquire a high level of practical laboratory skills from which the theory is then drawn. In order to be successful on this course you should enjoy and be good at working independently, meeting deadlines, solving problems, and extracting information from new sources. The qualification will have an overall grade of pass, merit, distinction or distinction* calculated on the total points achieved.

Candidates need GCSE combined science at 5-5 or separate sciences 5. Mathematics at GCSE Grade 5 is also desirable.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
