The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about children’s development and the education sector for 0-8 Year olds. Early Childhood Development works well alongside subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, Biology, English and Health and Social Care, with a view to progressing to higher education or pursuing a career working with children. The qualification can also support progression to employment directly, or via an Apprenticeship. Many students go on to study Teaching, Child Psychology, Midwifery, Nursing, Counselling and Social Work or pursue a career in Medicine.
