The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate provides a specialist work related qualification that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the field of laboratory technicians in a wide range of vocational situations, eg quality control, forensic or medical science. The course allows students to continue to study all 3 science subjects beyond GCSE. The qualification offers an engaging programme of mainly internally assessed coursework for those students who are clear about the area of employment they wish to enter.
