You would be suitable for this course if you are interested in developing a more technical understanding of computers including problem solving, data representation, hardware and software. In addition, you will need to be prepared to spend many hours outside of lessons, in order to develop and reinforce your programming skills. This course combines well with both Maths and Science subjects, in particular Physics. Many students who study a language can learn programming skills due to their ability to work with different languages.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 subjects at Grade 4 or above, including at least one of GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. A minimum of a grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
