Computer Science is one of the most exciting and fast- moving subjects you can study. It teaches you how computers really work, how to think logically, and how to solve problems creatively. Building on your GCSE knowledge, this course explores how processors, networks, and software operate while developing your programming skills to a professional level.The course is structured into two examined components and one programming project The programming project gives you an opportunity to build on programming skills that they have developed at KS3 & KS4 to solve a suitable practical problem of your own choice, giving you a real experience of project managing a programming task.
What you need to get on
Grade 7 in Computer Science GCSE or Grade 7 in Maths GCSE Students must also have a minimum of a Grade 5 in GCSE English Language or Literature to study this subject. APS 5.5
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
