What the college says

This qualification is based on the national occupational standards for hairdressing and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a senior hairdresser/stylist. Throughout this qualification, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. You will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, provide a range of cutting and colouring services as well as set, dress and finish the hair. In parallel, you will develop your communication and customer service skills, your awareness of environmental sustainability and your commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem-solving and research skills will also be developed. Please note - your timetable may include one late evening per week.

What you need to get on

This course is only available to 16-18 year olds GCSE English Language and Maths grade 4-9 plus completion of a relevant Level 2 hairdressing course.
