As the ideal qualification for anyone considering a career in, sports science, sport therapy, PE teaching or any other sport-industry related careers, this course is a great way to kick-start your journey. On the course, you will explore a wide range of topics including anatomy and physiology, fitness training and programming, sports therapy and much more. Lessons are delivered in the classroom and off-site where you have the opportunity to use professional facilities to run practical projects that directly link to sports theory. This includes planning and leading sports coaching sessions across the local community and the college. At the end of the course, you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to either progress onto university, start an apprenticeship or seek employment.

What you need to get on

This course is only available to 16-18 year olds. Four GCSEs at grade 4-9 including English Language and Maths OR Successful completion of a relevant Level 2 course plus GCSE grades 4-9 in English Language and Maths. If you are not studying a traditional GCSE programme, we accept alternative qualifications like Functional Skills and vocational courses.
