What the college says
This course is for students who want to build their confidence in maths, starting with the basics and moving on to more challenging topics. You will learn at your own pace, beginning with content aimed at GCSE grades 1 to 3. As you improve, you will tackle more problem-solving questions at grades 4 to 5 to prepare for the Foundation tier exam. If you are ready, you can then move on to higher level topics (grades 6 to 9) to prepare for the higher tier exam.
What you need to get on
You don�t need to have any previous qualifications, but you will be at an advantage if you have a grade 3 (D) at GCSE in maths or level 2 functional skills maths. If English is your second language, we recommend you have an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
