What the college says

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) course will start in September and will run until July. This is an excellent course provided by the college and most employers are asking potential or existing employees to gain this qualification, as they would now be part of a professional body. During this course you will be taught 4 subjects. All of the units within the qualification are mandatory. The course will be delivered one day a week or alternatively over two evenings a week.

What you need to get on

To be eligible to enter onto the level 3 course, you MUST have completed an equivalent level 2 course in Accounting (especially bookkeeping) or have the relevant experience (this will be on the course leader’s discretion, Mary McKee). To see if you are able to qualify to enter directly onto the level 3 course, visit www.aat.org.uk and in the search box enter skills test, this will give you 30 questions and will at the end tell you what the appropriate level for your study is.

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
