What the college says
The AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting provides a solid foundation in finance administration and core accounting principles. This qualification is ideal for individuals starting out in a finance or accounting career and is designed to develop essential bookkeeping and accounting skills. Accounting is a key function in any business, and this course introduces students to double-entry bookkeeping, basic costing techniques, and the use of ledgers. It also explores broader business and personal skills needed in today's finance sector. Learners will explore a range of professional areas including bookkeeping systems, reconciliations, cost recording systems, and business environments. The course also integrates four key themes that reflect modern accounting practices: ethics, technology, communication, and sustainability. The AAT Level 2 Certificate does not by itself qualify students for advanced roles in finance but serves as a stepping stone to higher qualifications, such as the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, or junior finance roles. AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting Modules: - Introduction to Bookkeeping - Principles of Bookkeeping Controls - Principles of Costing - The Business Environment
