What will I study? Psychology is the science of behaviour and experience, based on what we learn about these through the scientific process. Taking Psychology at A Level consists of three skills: • AO1 describing what you know • AO2 applying your knowledge • AO3 analysing/evaluating your knowledge. Much of the students’ learning is done in class but they are encouraged and expected to apply what they know to real life, including the completion of their own research. Year 1 key topics include: • social influence • memory • attachment • approaches in Psychology • Psychopathology • research methods Year 2 additional topics include: • Biopsychology • additional research methods • issues and debates in Psychology • relationships • eating behaviour • aggression

What you need to get on

Five Level 4 GCSEs are required for entry into 6th Form. GCSE Level 5 pass is required in your chosen, or related, subject.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
