Physics is the study of how objects interact and driven by a need to understand these interactions. You should be have an interest in understanding how things work, from the smallest subatomic particles to the largest stars and galaxies. Physics is a challenging course, with significant mathematical elements, that builds and expands on your understanding from GCSE.

What you need to get on

GCSE English grades (9-5) GCSE Maths grade (9-7) plus 3 GCSEs at grades 9-4. These should include 6 or above in Physics and one other Science or 6/6 or above in Double Science. If you are not also studying maths A level, you must have a 7 in GCSE Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
