What will I study? This AS/A Level course leads on naturally from the GCSE course with a very up Grade C or above in to date format that focuses on important issues, Geography is expected. There are two units for the AS level. 1. Changing Landscapes • includes a Fieldwork investigation in Physical Geography. 2. Changing Places • includes a Fieldwork Investigation in Human Geography. There are four units for the A Level qualification. 1. Changing Landscapes and Changing Places. • to include Coastal or Glaciated Landscapes. 2. Global Systems and Global Governance. • to include Water and Carbon Cycles, Processes and Patterns of Global Migration and Global Governance of the Earth's oceans. 3. Contemporary Themes in Geography. • to include Tectonic Hazards and Contemporary themes in Geography. 4. Independent Investigation. • one written independent investigation, based on the collection of both primary and secondary information. Assessment Year 1 - all units include 2 written examinations Year 2 - Unit 1 - 3 will be by written examinations. Unit 4 will be assessed by a non-examination investigation.

What you need to get on

Five Level 4 GCSEs are required for entry into 6th Form. GCSE Level 5 pass is required in your chosen, or related, subject.
