The specification is split into 6 modules. The first 2 modules are scientific skills that will be embedded into your lessons. There are 4 other content driven modules. In Year 12 you will study Units 3 & 4: Unit 3: Forces & Motions Unit 4: Electricity, waves and quantum physics In Year 13 you will study Units 5 & 6: Unit 5 Behaviour of Gases Unit 6 Electric & Magnetic fields Assessment Paths 3 exams in year 13. Paper 1 covers Unit 3 and 5 and is worth 37%. Paper 2 covers content from Unit 2 and 4 and is worth 37% and paper 3 is a shorter paper worth 26% but can include topics from all modules. Practical skill endorsement (internally assessed).

What you need to get on

You need a minimum of 7 GCSEs at Grade A*-C, including English Language at a grade 5 and Mathematics at a grade 6. If you are a triple science student, you will need ABB, with a minimum of an A grade in Unit 3 of Physics GCSE. If you have studied Core and Additional Science an AA grade will be required with an A grade in the Physics unit.
