At Cardinal Newman College we offer A Levels in French, German and Spanish. Any Modern Language is highly sought after by employers and is a great skill to possess in the current work market. You could earn 10% more than somebody who doesn�t speak a second language. Furthermore top universities respect and recognise the demands of studying this subject and the wide array of transferable skills acquired by students who study a language at A Level. In A Level Spanish you will be provided with an in depth knowledge of the language. You will acquire a wide range of vocabulary and an in depth understanding of grammatical aspects and tenses; so that you can write your own independent essays and hold a discussion on any topic. However learning Spanish is not just about the language but about developing passion for all issues related to the country, from social, to political and even problems of young people. You will also be submerged in the study and understanding of Spanish cinema.

What you need to get on

Five Grade 5s at GCSE and at least a 6 in Spanish

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
