Do you have an interest in people, and an open, analytical and enquiring mind. Are you curious about what makes people behave the way they do. Then Psychology is the course for you. Psychology is the science of mind and behaviour and throughout this exciting course you will learn about many aspects of a person s behaviour, abilities and development. Issues covered are very diverse. in the first year we study conformity and obedience, attachment, memory and psychopathology the study of mental illnesses and their treatments. In the second year we cover a variety of optional topics including aggression, relationships and schizophrenia. Alongside these topics you learn to conduct research and analyse the data. Psychology is a fascinating yet challenging academic subject in which you learn to compose logically developed arguments using scientific evidence to support your arguments.

5 in Maths and English; plus 55 Combined Science or 5 in Biology and 5 in Psychology if taken

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
