Studying the Subject - Physics is a well-respected course as it requires the application of mathematical problem solving to real-life situations. Our aim is to encourage students to develop a wide range of transferable skills while learning relevant Physics. For the one year AS level course students study forces, motion and the behaviour of materials. They also cover electricity, waves and the complex field of quantum physics. The full two year A Level course builds on the topics from the AS course. Thermal properties of materials and more complex motions are studied. Nuclear physics, medical imaging and astrophysics complete the course. A Level Physics also has a 'practical endorsement' for which twelve experiments are completed during the course.

What you need to get on

Subject Specifc Requirements - Students should have achieved Grade As in Core and Additional Science or Grade A in Physics. Modular results may be considered in exceptional cases.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
