What the college says

Students study 6 units over two years. They study the development of Physics, Foundations of physics, forces and motions, electrons, waves and photons, Newtonian world and astrophysics and particles and medical physics. These are examined by three examination papers and completion of a practical log-book throughout the year on a series of assessed practical. The Unit 1 examination is entitled Modelling Physics and covers modules 1, 2, 3 and 5. Unit 2 is entitled Exploring Physics and covers modules 1, 2, 4 and 6. The Unit 3 paper is synoptic and covers the entire course.

What you need to get on

Students are required to achieve 5 x 9-5 grades at GCSE Level including a minimum of a grade 6 at GCSE double/dual/additional Science or GCSE Physics

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
