What the college says
If you enjoy Maths and feel confident with the work you have met so far at GCSE, then you should consider Maths A Level. It is a demanding and challenging subject, but it can be an extremely rewarding one if you are prepared to put in time and effort. In return you will gain one of the most useful of all the A Levels which can open the door to many degree courses and occupations. You will be taught in groups by a combination of lectures, classes and workshops for 5 hours per week for both Mathematics and Further Mathematics. You will be set weekly homework and it is crucial to keep up to date with this.
What you need to get on
5 GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English Language and a grade 6 in maths.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
