A-level mathematics extends the ideas introduced at GCSE and it provides students with a thorough grounding in the mathematical tools and techniques often needed in the work place. The logic and reasoning skills developed by studying maths at this level make sure the qualification is widely respected. It is desirable for students wishing to study physics, chemistry and engineering. Studies show that young people with A-level maths earn 10% more than their counterparts!

What you need to get on

We expect our students to have obtained at least a Grade 6 at Maths GCSE. An enjoyment of algebra is desirable as it forms a key part of the qualification.
