What the college says

What is it? You will take algebra, geometry and data-handling from GCSE Mathematics further, alongside the study of calculus and mechanics. This is a challenging but rewarding A-level for those who have a love for algebra. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? We have an extensive range of resources in our collaborative classrooms to develop a deeper understanding of the subject. We combine this with constant support from experienced teachers, our own website, additional sessions and our breakout area for drop-ins and mentoring, to help everyone be successful. Specific course entry requirements: Grade 6 in GCSE Maths.

What you need to get on

For our A Level programme, we require at least two GCSEs at (5) (B) grade and three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English language and maths. The pass grades need to be in academic GCSEs and relate to your chosen A level courses. Please see our website for specific course requirements.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
