Are you interested in how our society is regulated? Would you like to know more about how our laws prohibit harmful behaviour, uphold individual rights and seek to achieve justice? Understanding our legal system and the way different areas of law (e.g. criminal law or human rights law) work, is both fascinating and empowering. If you wish to feel informed about the society you live in, and able to engage with its rules and regulations, then this course is for you.

What you need to get on

A level 5 in GCSE English Language is recommended. You need to be comfortable reading and writing English, as all of the concepts in law are expressed through language. You will also need to be able to write answers to exam questions in which you explain legal concepts accurately and apply the law you have learned in a structured way.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
