What the college says
This A Level provides students with the opportunity to study a range of topics covering the legal system; law making; the nature of law; and three substantive areas of law.The A Level gives an excellent introduction for students who want to read Law at university or start a legal apprenticeship. The broad nature of the subject makes it a useful foundation for many degrees. Students have gone on to study a range of subjects at university including Law, Criminology, History, Psychology, Business Studies, ICT and Accounting. Many students progress on to jobs in the Legal Profession, Business, Accounting and the Police.
What you need to get on
Five GCSEs at grades 9-5 including English Language and Maths. Grade 6 in GCSE English Literature, History and/or R.E. is essential.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
What this level means
The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
