What is it? Law is an exciting subject that provides an understanding of the rules and people that govern our lives. We explore interesting and challenging topics such as criminal law, negligence and morality. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? Our enthusiastic team have a track record of outstanding results. Law is excellent preparation for studying academic courses at university and we have many ex-students who are successful legal practitioners. As a law student there is an opportunity to visit Parliament and the Supreme Court in London. Speakers come and talk about their work as lawyers and there is a visit to the local courts. Specific course entry requirements: Grade 5 in GCSE English Language is preferred. A grade 5 in another essay based subject is also recommended e.g. English literature or history.

What you need to get on

For our A Level programme, we require at least two GCSEs at (5) (B) grade and three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English language and maths. The pass grades need to be in academic GCSEs and relate to your chosen A level courses. Please see our website for specific course requirements.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
