The course is suitable for 16-19 year-old students who wish to study full-time and progress to university having recently achieved a range of GCSE qualifications. Students must have an interest in how societies and politics have developed over time, and the origins of the modern world. Students need to write well, show initiative and be prepared to discuss and debate.

What you need to get on

For 3 A Level subjects you require 6 GCSEs grades 9-4 in academic subjects, taken in one sitting. In addition, there are subject specific entry criteria which relate to the specific demands of the subject. To study A Level History you must have at least a GCSE Grade 6 in History or a suitable subject such as English Language or Literature.
