Among the many benefits, an A-level in a Modern Foreign Language is designed to enable you to: • Develop the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE level and therefore use French/German/Spanish in a wide range of contexts • Gain a useful insight into another culture and reflect on various aspects of contemporary society • Enhance employment prospects, facilitate foreign travel and experience the enjoyment and motivation of improving your linguistic level. We benefit from excellent facilities for MFL teaching. Some lessons will be in our Stratford Language Centre to take advantage of our digital language laboratory. You will have a weekly session with the assistant for the language you study. Course materials will be available in electronic format to enable effective study at home, and we are moving to offering resources on the web. Further information is available on the AQA website.

What you need to get on

You must have achieved 54 points in your best 8 GCSE results, to include 6 in English and Maths to gain admission to our Sixth Form. A minimum of a grade 7 for GCSE French

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
