A Level Film Studies is for students who want to immerse themselves in a wide variety of films from different countries and eras. In our specialist film screening and teaching room, you will study everything from modern British and American cinema, through global cinema, to 1920s silent film. Additionally, the coursework unit offers the opportunity to create your own short film or screenplay. You will develop a strong understanding of film language and hone your analytical and interpretative skills whilst watching a range of challenging films. The coursework is a great chance to gain real-world film production skills and to use industry-standard software.

What you need to get on

Six GCSEs 9-4 (or A*-C) Two at least grade 6 (or B) Two from English, Maths OR Science

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
