The course builds on the skills developed at GCSE, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their interest in and enjoyment of literature. They are encouraged to read widely and independently, engaging with the set texts and other texts they have selected themselves.

What you need to get on

Minimum grade 6 in GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature. General qualification requirements must also be met: GCSE English and Maths at grades 4-9; minimum three GCSEs at grades 6-9, and a further three GCSEs at grades 5-9. Native modern foreign languages are not normally counted. GCSE subject grades may only be counted once.
