What the college says

A level English Literature:This course is for those students who find reading a pleasure; not a chore. Students will have a lively and enquiring mind and enjoy discussing how writers make them think and feel. They will have the ability to argue a case with passion and enthusiasm. There are 3 specific units of study over the two years, one of which is examined through coursework. Much of the reading/ writing on this course will be undertaken independently so students will need to be self motivators who can work well to deadlines. An interest in History is a distinct advantage as it will help students to understand the context in which texts are written and received.
