What the college says
Do you enjoy analysing contemporary written and spoken language from a variety of media and composing your own texts? A Level English Language will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in a lively and stimulating environment. You will study and enjoy ideas and theory about various types of language, for example: language & technology, language & occupation, language & gender, accent & dialect, language change and the language of political correctness.
What you need to get on
Students studying three A Levels will be expected to have a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 6 and three GCSEs at grade 5/4, including English Language and Mathematics at grade 5/4 or above. Or eight GCSEs at a minimum of grade 5.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
