What is Dance? Dance transforms pictures and emotions into movement. Dance will allow you to explore and develop your talent for movement, enabling you to improve not only your physical skills but also your creative imagination. A Level Dance gives you the opportunity to acquire experience of performance and choreography and to engage in critical thinking about dance. It also promotes a healthy lifestyle through an awareness of the importance of exercise and training. You will develop the skills to perform and interpret dance ideas, create and choreograph your own dances and write about dance through the study of professional works. You will be taught in a variety of ways including; Contemporary Dance technique classes, Choreographic workshops, Theoretical lessons (classroom based). You will be assessed on both your performance and choreography through a practical exam and your critical engagement, through a written exam

What you need to get on

Five Grade 5s at GCSE and at least a 5 in English Language or English Literature

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
