Chemistry is the study of the elements and their compounds. It is a science subject, so practical work is an important part of the course. The aims of these courses are to encourage you to: • develop an interest in, and enthusiasm for Chemistry, including developing an interest in further study and careers in Chemistry; • appreciate how society makes decisions about scientific issues and how the sciences contribute to the success of the economy and society; • develop and demonstrate a deeper appreciation of the skills, knowledge and understanding of How Science Works; • develop essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of Chemistry and how they relate to each other.

You are required to gain 54 points from your best 8 GCSE results to be admitted to the Sixth Form including 6 in English and Maths. A minimum of an grade 7 in GCSE Core Science, Additional Science or Chemistry
