OCR Chemistry A has a content-led, flexible approach. Chemistry provides the understanding that is essential for the study of all modern sciences. It is at the forefront of global research in the fields of medicine, environmental and marine science, novel forms of energy, smart materials and forensic science. However, the numerical and problem-solving skills that you will develop also form a firm foundation for areas outside science.
What you need to get on
42 points from your best 8 subjects; GCSE Maths and English (Language or Literature) at a minimum of grade 4, in addition to: Grade 6s (12) in Science (if Double) or Grade 6 in Chemistry (if Triple) and a grade 6 in Maths
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
