The A Level Business course includes the following topics:What is business?, Managers, leadership and decision making, decision making to improve marketing performance, decision making to improve operational performance, decision making to improve financial performance, decision making to improve human resource performance, analysing the strategic position of a business; choosing strategic direction, Strategic methods: how to pursue strategies, managing strategic change. This course enables students to engage with, explore and understand business behaviour and develop a critical understanding of what business is and does. It offers students an insight into the world in which they will eventually be working. Potential students will have: An interest in how businesses function An interest in how businesses influence groups in society An interest in what influences and affects businesses The ability to take part in discussion and use examples to help emphasise issues The ability to organise work and meet deadlines. GCSE Grade 5 in Mathematics and English Language and a minimum of three other subjects at grade 5 or above.
