What the college says

This course caters for students who, finding themselves with an ability in Art, want to pursue the subject further and possibly into a career. It is designed to encourage students to develop skills, creativity, imagination and independence based on personal experience, taught skills and critical understanding. Students show this through their responses to a range of stimuli. The course provides a framework approach that allows freedom to experiment and take risks with their work whilst developing their own style. Students will develop a deep understanding of their own work and the work of others. They are able to tailor their course to fit their individual needs, choices and aspirations in order to follow their chosen progression route through to Further, Higher Education or the workplace. Over 50% of our students during the last 10 years have continued their Art education and during the last 25 years no student doing the full A Level has failed.
