What the college says

A qualification in accounting will always be helpful – whether it's used professionally or personally. This course helps students to understand the purposes and responsibilities of the accountant and the impacts of their recommendations on business and the wider environment. Students will build knowledge and understanding of the principles of bookkeeping, presentation of financial statements of sole-trader, partnerships and limited, key concepts, principles and techniques that they can apply to real-life scenarios, developing the ability to solve problems logically, analyse data methodically, make reasoned choices and communicate effectively.

What you need to get on

Our entry requirements are five grades awarded 9–5 at GCSE/L2 merit or above at BTEC/CTEC equivalent including a minimum of GCSE Grade 5 or above in English & Maths. In addition, some subjects require a GCSE Grade 6 or above in specific entry requirements (see pages 12 and 13). For the A level programme a level 2 BTEC/CTEC Merit counts as an equivalent GCSE Grade 5. GCSE Grade 6 in Maths is essential.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
